I've been using amsoil's signature series since I've own the car. Will I notice any differences with the AMO 10w-40 high zinc? I daily drive and autox 1-2 times a month.

You can also go to amsoil.com, and search simply "AMO" and it'll be the first product that turns up.

When I had my Cobra, it developed lifter tick which was fixed completely by substituting 1 quart of oil with 1 quart of Marvell Mystery Oil.

I was also skeptical but others on my Mustang board said it helped so I tried it. Started the car up after the oil change and the tick was still there with no change at all. After 5 minutes of idling it was gone.

I never tried it in my Evo because I had no ticking. But I'd try that if it started.

Changing from the correct oil is a bandaid. If your lifters are ticking, they are either bd, or need to be bled. How many miles are on the car? Just have the lifters bled or replaces when you replace the timing belt etc.

I used 1qt. of Lucas oil on a oil change, on one of my old 2GA DSMs. It got rid of the lifter tick, so I used it every oil change after that. What does your oil consumption look like? Are you adding a qt. of oil every month, 2 weeks, ect?
I use what the OEM calls for, and don't have any problems.
