Evo 9 HID Kits Vendors around?
Evo 9 HID Kits Vendors around?
Did a search and could not find any relevant vendors around that sell reliable and quality HID kits. If anyone can point me in the right direction in picking up a set would be great! Cheers!
Do some research on HIDs before throwing a set in. I didnt do enough research and threw a DDM kit in and was quickly disappointed.
I'd try http://www.theretrofitsource.com/
I haven't tried them but that was who I was going to go to next. I like they use Philips and denso products.

$70 or so shipped for the DDM 55w HID kit and $60 shipped for VVME. Main difference for them is with VVME its a full kit and with DDM you have to add in what you want and dont want for a cost or a savings.

I can only attest to DDM's kits but I have used them on all of my vehicles and never had any issues. But it sounds like VVME might be the better deal. I'd go with whoever is cheaper if they both honor their products!
I had the worst experience with them. So I'm only speaking from my experience.
I didn't cheap out (I kinda did going with the people), I bought the full kit; wiring harness, 9006 adapters, 55w ballast and 5000k bulbs.
Took 3 weeks to get the kit. The bulbs ended up different colors. (one similar to stock 4300k and the other 8-9000k) when I turn them on, it takes a good 20-30 seconds to fully warm up.
I sent them pictures and the color difference in bulbs. They told me (in a very coindecending manner) to ship them back on my dime. And they would ship me another pair from their manufacturer (china).
So not only did they not apologize for the lousy quality control, but I have to pay to ship them back because of something that was clearly their fault. Rip the kit back out of the car and put stock ones back in. Wait another 3 weeks and hope they get it right this time? Oh and then rip my bumper of and put it all back together again?
Glad you all had a great experience but I didn't. You can google reviews on DDM. I'm not the only one.

Does it work and is it good are two different things. It's easy to make a bulb that works, much more difficult to make a good one. You cannot beat OEM quality when it comes to hids. A generic aftermarket bulb such as DDM sells will NEVER outperform a good Philips or Osram bulb. Replacing a stock bulb with anything less than this bulb, or an Osram equivalent, is a flat out downgrade
