So far I got these parts installed in my car:
1. razo air filter
2. 3 inch exhaust(from turbo come straight back)
3.apexi s-afc
4.blitz ebc(set at 19psi)
5.50hp shot nos
6.je pistons(9:1)
7.crower rods
8.arp head studs
9.hks metal head gasket(1.2mm)
10.hks twin disc gd max clutch setup
11.clutchmasters lightweight aluminum flywheel
12.holley 750cc injectors

the car did 11.7 with these parts installed.
what do i need to break into the 10's??

Have you spent any time optimizing your combination? You definitely need to focus on removing whatever restrictions are left in the system..

I truly believe that high 10's are possible without too much more than what you have..

Try to remove as much weight as possible from the car (without affecting your comfort) thats the first key thing..

You probably should focus on your intake path next, upgraded cams, valvesprings, extrudehone your intake manifold and throttlebody (or go with an upgraded throttlebody and intake manifold) an aftermarket header might help things a bit over the stock exhaust manifold.

I hate to say this, but if your running the stock turbo, it might not move quite enough air without modification, so you may end up replacing that, the bad news is this would increase lag which is something I also don't like..

Anything you do to increase air volume will probably hurt drivability a little though.

Short routed intercooler pipes, upgraded intercooler is probably another good upgrade if you haven't already done it.

11.7 is pretty quick for the mods you have listed but the NOS is probably helping you there. I'm surprised at the 9:1 compression, given the opportunity I would have dropped my compression slightly and increased the engines bore/stroke slightly (stroker kit) to increase low end torque, then the larger turbo's lag would be offset.. Although the S-AFC is a good unit to compensate for the larger fuel injectors, it might be a good idea to have your ECU reprogrammed to the mods, or go with a complete standalone.

I think the way you could kit tens is get cams and adjustable cam gears. If you have the resources you may as well get the head ported and flow benched and add head studs and a stronger head gasket. THen get the car tuned dyno turned really well(may want to get the emanage or a more adjustable fuel computer). A shorter intercooler piping would be good and a bov if you havent done that yet(when you turn the boost up the stock one should start to leak). And finally if all else fails its time for a bigger turbo. Your motor can obviously handle it if its built and you get head studs you should be fine. After that if you cant hit tens still change out to a 100 shot of nos(j/k ) If you still cant hit tens put your car on a diet and become anorexic( ).........Good luck with the project.

I know alot of people are suprised about the 9:1 compression ratio.
I don't know too much about engines but this is what was recommended to me by race engineering when i told them what i wanted to do with the car. That's the reason i went with 9:1.

well i am sure that the turbo is the next upgrade for me.I already have the turbo manifold as well as a tial wastegate.i know that the lag would be increased but I could always use nitrous to eliminate that until i decide to stroke the motor.

well the higher compression should eliminate some of the lag and since you do have nos you shoot in first gear and then just use high boost through the rest of the 1/4.

a 10 second, daily driven car is a near impossible task for jsut about any car....an Evo even more so quite honestly.

Turbo would definitley be needed...ther is no "best one" in that category, just lots of different paths to a common goal.

Some real form of engine management will also likely be needed

You need to get rid of the SAFC and get a stand alone unit. RRE runs in the 11's with it, exhaust, intake, and no engine modification (stock block). Inhectors, fuel pump and turbo get you 10's...

if I could avoid the stroker kit for a while I would..just because of the cost.
i know i need a turbo upgrade as well as a management system.Already doing some research on which management to go with but even that is a pain in the ***!

for Crazy4Cars.....items 10-11 are simply the clutch and flywheel. It's a twin disc clutch. And the flywheel is lighter than stock.

go to a real good shop and have your car tuned.....
i have less mods than you, stock block and stock turbo running 11.8@119mph... clearly a high/mid 11 second car w/ race gas of course...Tuning is the key to get all your mods working together...
ive seen 1g talons and eclipses run 11s on a 14b turbo

10 seconds not impossible for a daily driver, i rebuilt a 440ci (6.3 or maybe 6.7litre?) litre i think engine haha it was a long time ago) and dumped it in a newport and i drove it all day long, until I hit a gas station, and EVERY gas station. =)

oh ok...
yeh the gd max comes with clutch/pressure plate and flywheel.
but the flywheel is just a normal flywheel.it's like stock...so i got rid of it and bought the clutchmasters flywheel.
