No it went under the weather stripping too. The fit was freaking awesome.
The tape provided was an inch wide... It seemed like pretty decent stuff. Like I said though, I should have gone with my gut and used 3M, I also pondered the idea of some type of mild adhesive in a few spots. Obviously, I did not do either of those things, but I will next time.

really? thats crazy how it just slipped out from under the weather stripping without causing any damage to it. what kind of tape was provided? im assuming not 3M ?
sorry to hear, im gonna go check mine.

Glad I saw this! Now I'm not going to use the 3m tape that came with my CF trunk spoiler today. I used loctite double sided tape on my VG and will use it again tonight for the new part. The loctite tape is much wider anyways and is doing a good job on my VG so far.
Sounds like one side lifted up just a tiny bit.. it probably only takes a bit to generate enough for to lift the entire strip up.
At least you have half of it to show them.. maybe they'll send you a new one for free

damn that sucks man, im amazed though your stereo antenna is still on. Scary considering im running the same Vortex Generator on mine. Hopefully they work it out and you get a replacement one.
Yea my original and new both had the tabs that go under the molding. First time was store bought 3M tape 5+ yrs it held. This time I used a heavy duty double sided tape one of the manufacturing engineers from work gave me. So far so good
My brother had a carbon one, was driving about 140km/h (85mph) when he heard a bang, looked in his rear vision mirror and saw it going under the wheels of a semi that he had just passed, he reckons that it just exploded. He said it was a really hot day, so maybe the hot roof soften the glue on the tape.
I've got a PU one that I've had to 220km/h and it has held on so far, fingers crossed it stays up there. Even if it comes of it will probably survive, that PU stuff is tough, probably wouldn't survive getting run over by a truck though.
