I've seen macs that run a windows OS. I would look into that. As far as I know, macs are out of the loop when it comes to tuning programs like Evoscan.

I tune mine with a mac you will have to have windows partitioned on your mac. You should already have boot camp in the mac. All you need to do is purchase windows probably vista or better and install it on the mac via boot camp. If allows you to choose whether to boot windows or osx during the startup of the computer. It essentially runs windows as an app in the osx so if a virus occurs you can delete without effecting the mac. From here you can install all of the typical virtual dyno, ecu flash, evoscan tools to do your tuning on the windows program. hope this helps man.

Best advice is buy a small laptop and use it specifically for that or tuning. Save the Mac for media activities.

Mac runs the software flawlessly I wouldn't waste the money for a computer just for that.

I just picked up an 05 Evo 8 yesterday and I am also very interested in this. I currently tune my DSM with ECMlink V3 on my Mac. I was quite disappointed to see that Evoscan only works with a PC. Anyone else using a Mac to tune an Evo?

i do read post above. Just go to wal mart and buy windows 7,vista or whatever for like 100$ and install it. Its a bit steep when you use it to just tune but its cheaper than a new pc all together lol and you can do all the windows things that some macs cannot do. Just launch and install it into boot camp. Once the set up is completed when you turn on the computer hold in the option button until it will prompt you to boot in windows or osx. There is a write up online its pretty simple to be honest. From there you basically have an awesome with windows as a program!

For reference purposes, See Above Posts:

The best solution to maintain your Mac OS and still be able to tune in a Windows OS environment is to use Boot Camp. Using this technique you can dual boot both Operating Systems for their said dedicated purposes. See below on how to install Boot Camp on your Apple Product:
