intake hose coming off

-23 pounds of boost
-stock 8 turbo

intake hose keeps coming off near the mainifold with less than 23 lbs of boost. it will hold for some pulls then usually give out. im using 2 worm clamps and i think i finally have them to where they will hold but who knows. i want to use 2 tbolt clamps and some hairspray instead. will they hold?, and what size do i need?, and can it be a problem with my dumpvalve?

pic of the bay the black hose is where the problem is the tbolt you see is the one i need...

I think you stated your problem all by yourself... "Worn clamps"

However, you stated that you wanted to switch to t-bolt clamps, I think...? Is this a picture of your engine bay? I would recommend it, and you shouldn't need any hairspray.

I'm not thinking that is his engine bay. Already has Tbolt clamps in picture. But that is one clean engine bay.

Swap out the Tbolt clamps. Also, the stock hoses get worn and start to flex under boost. At that point, the clamps wont even be able to hold them on.

Just food for thought. start thinking about either replacement silicone couplers or a new UICP kit.

you buy it in sheets and cut it yourself takes like 20 minutes but you can make it look good if you take your time, mine is dei heat reflective tape you can get it from almost any performance site i got mine from stm along with my radiator stays and battery tie down and some other oem parts

Well nice engine bay!

It's easy to confuse worm and worn if you are quickly reading through. I have a habit of doing that too.

The Tbolt clamps should hold them. Make sure they are on straight and flush with the piping. If you feel like spending the extra time, you can get the clamps on the best you can and do a boost leak test. Pressurize the piping to 23psi (or what ever you expect to see) and see if it holds. You can get a good idea of the condition of the couplers too. Although, don't stand to close. If the coupler blows off again, it might scare the S out of you. Lol

If your deverter valve is not opening, you will hear compressor surge, I'd imagine.

i dont have a coupler up by my throttle body i have the black flexy hose thing (i think its stock), its not like anything you can use a coupler on because its not solid. i attach it straight to the manifold put the clamps on and cross my fingers. correct me if im wrong on how my piping is set up

I had the same issue, popped off my LICP a couple of times. I then replaced all my clamps with the kit above and did not have issues for a while. Last summer I started poping off my UICP right where you are saying at the throttle body even when I used some hairspray and the t-bolt clamps. I've since then upgraded all the crappy rubber hoses with silicone hoses from forge performance and they have been rock solid. Bought mine from MAP, gave me a great deal. The forge hoses are great quality, exact shape as the stock pieces so easy installation.

Oh and that was all on stock boost levels too, quite aggravating. Now when I look at the hose that goes from the UICP to the TB I can see that the rubber hose is damaged, sort of rubbed/stripped out, on the inside which is why it wouldn't hold.
