RS is pretty much the bare bones evo, crank windows, no radio, no ABS, little sound deadening, some have no AC, aluminum roof. The GSR is the more premium Evo with a radio, power windows and locks, ac, abs, sunroof on some. The MR is the 6 speed with everything the GSR comes with but has an aluminum roof, tuned up suspension and other things. I'm sure I missed some details with each model so feel free to add to them somebody.

i have the rs, and yea u really didnt miss nething about it, but the owner before me put in power windows, a cd player, automatic doorlocks, if there was only thing to complain about that i dnt have is, the side view mirrors u have to manually set lol, its kinda funny, but hey alot less expensive part to fix if sum retard side swipes u, the really only downside performance wise to the rs is it doesnt have the bilstein shocks, it still handles amazing tho, its an evo, u just gotta decide if u can deal with not havin really ne luxury and usin the car for wat its made for

Dumb question but was the USDM RS model available in '04? Or was it only sold in '05 & '06?

This thread helped me when I was looking for my Evo.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...oking-evo.html

I suggest you check out the stickies both in this forum:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...faqs-forum-61/

and this forum:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/evo-general-11/

They helped me out tremendously when I was trying to decide on which Evo would suit my needs.

In addition to the stickies, searching for key words through the use of the search button helped too. To get better results put quotation marks around the key words. (Say your searching for information on spark plugs, put this: "spark plugs" into the search bar and it'll yield better results)

I myself almost got an RS, but the dealership sold the one I was going to look at. I lucked out with a good GS-R and couldn't be happier with my decision.

The main advantage the Rs' have over the other models is that they have a helical front diff vs the open front diffs on the other Evo's.

I have a 2004 RS (it is actually for sale on this forum). 2004 was the first year the RS was introduced to the USDM market with the release of 500 produced cars (250 ww and 250 rr). Also 2004 was the shortest production year of the Evo model....

One thing the RS has over the GSR is a front LSD ....
