HVAC : A/C and recirculation buttons...

I have an issue on a 2003 8 MR. The A/C and recirculation buttons are stuck ON. When I turn the key the recirculation button comes ON, and when I rotate the fan speed knob the A/C comes ON, and I cannot shut off both. The defrost button work flawlessly, and also everything else.
Ideas? I have tried to disconnect and reconnect the electrical cables from behind but nothing changes, and I cannot figure a solution on the repair manual.

Probably, it's not my car and the HVAC cover has been replaced with a carbon fiber one that have no "legend "on it
I'll try later to turn the heat knob

At the Dairy Queen I put a malt on the dash and when I pulled forward it toppled over. Next day the emergency flasher button quit working and two of the A/C buttons barely worked. A spilled soda will do the same thing. Cleaning or replacing the switches is the fix.

Good to hear. I learned that lesson when I thought my buttons were broken the day after I bought my car.
