Evo IX Mirrors noisy when driving

I don't know if this is a widespread problem with Evo 9's, but with my windows down, the mirrors make a ton of noise from the air going over them. Its quite annoying having a somewhat high pitch whine from them. Has anyone else noticed this with there car? I was thinking of replacing them with aftermarket mirrors to stop the noise

Mirrors are the same as the Evo 7 and 8. I think you are the only person with a problem with them.

Interesting, I've never heard someone complain about this... never really noticed, I'm usually listening to the sound of my turbo, exhaust or music.

I first thought it was something else at first, but after trying to figure it out for awhile, i have narrowed it down to the mirror, mostly the DS

I don't have that problem, but the NVH with the windows down is completely terrible on these cars lol

how did u narrow it down to the mirrors? never heard of mirrors making noise.
try removing the driver side mirror and see if problem persists.
its an easy removal process, screw cap cover, unscrew philips screw, pull cover, undo 3 bolts and fish up the plug and unplug. remove the side mirror.

I've noticed with the window partially down, the angle of the air sometimes catches the seatbelt, and makes a pretty high pitched noise. Generally goes away if I put the window down all the way.

well weirdly enough, it kinda stopped doing it all of a sudden. When i first got the car it was quite bad for a few weeks and the past two weeks i haven't noticed it at all.

The Evo has folding mirrors. I noticed the other day I had to adjust the drivers side on my car. Somebody (probably me) had walked into the mirror. It looked okay, but with a little push, it popped into place.

So, I'm thinking, this maybe happened to you but then the mirror got pushed back into place.
