Infrared car pictures
I was playing around with an infrared camera at work today and took these shots of the car after a 15min drive.
It's pretty cool to see what's hot and where. Tough to get a good picture of engine bay. there is no zoom on camera i think but I'm going to try it again when I figure out the settings and go for a longer drive.

Very good tool. To pin-point/Verify were its already know- heat prone spots. Can take a few more at intake manifold(specifically intake runners ) and fuel rail area.

never thought of doing this lol. pretty sweet. these are pretty awesome pieces of equipment. i dont know if harris electric co is nationwide but i was playing with one of these things in their store where im from. i was on a job picking up some 10-2 wire for a stove plug and seen it sitting there. im guessing they sell them to electricians to check for hot spots and such... but the possibilities are endless as you just proved. i might have to check out the price on one.
heres a cool idea. you should take the camera with you for a drive, get up to about 80 mph and hammer the brakes to the point of almost locking the car up and take a pic of the rotors to see how hot they get. that would be interesting to see as well.
