You Could do it but would not be worth the time and money to make it work right. You may want go with a differnt cam. maybe kilford or s2.
Whats your Goal with the Car?

It makes sense for people that want to run a more responsive street car, even if there are little hp gains.

After owning a 9, I would be doing this as well if I were to buy an 8.

Well my goal as in HP would be around 450-500 and it will be a daily driven summer car..only reason in asking about this is because I have heard about people doing this but not too much information about it..and I need a new head..I skipped a tooth and my mechanics says I could rebuild it or just get a new head

MIVEC is mostly about the area under the curve. It does very little to help top end power for most people.

For near stock cars the power falls off as you add cam advance up top due to back pressure. If you have tbe, cams, and a big turbo adding some advance up top may help.

There is a lot more to putting a MIVEC head on an evo 8 then just getting the head. You need the head, the oil feed lines, MIVEC intake cam gear, evo 9 ecu and harness, tapping the engine block to for the oil feed line, and I am sure there is more that I am forgetting, but my point is that it is very costly and time consuming to do it properly.

Just stick with an EVO 8 head, get better cams, and then get a tune.
