Aem Digital Boost gauge help
I removed the entire factory line when I changed gauges. As you know, its a pretty long run. Like kanovic, I mounted the AEM sensor under the hood on the right side strut tower, about 12 inches or so from the T-fitting. So, I cut off a section of the original line, and used that. I'm still puzzled to this day about the presence of the pill. Maybe someone who has to push those restrictor pills into the boost controller lines, put one in the wrong line by mistake. I don't know. Probably never will.
Another thing you might be noticing is the gauge sitting at zero when you start spooling under light throttle, but it is not actually going out of vacuum. Mine does the same, I can hear the turbo spooling and my bov will release but my AEM will read 0. I have not done a comparison with an analog boost gauge but now I want to test it.
I also don't think the pressure differential between the longer line lengths would make a difference in the gauge reading since it is not drastically long. If you have the same line id all the way through it shouldnt cause a problem. Assuming there isnt any kinks.
