Question Input Shaft/Tranny Seal question/insight...

I wanted to see if people out there have any experience with leaking seals or possibly the bearing that the input shaft inserts into.

Situation is when the tranny is filled with fluid it slowly leaks out from where the seal is and seems to be coming from the bearing where the input shaft sits. No cracks in the bell housing are visible and there is no reason to be cracks in the tranny since it was never dropped, etc.

Just looking for possible problems since the seal was replaced with a new OEM seal and its still leaking. I will get pictures up soon.

Thanks.

bump for more info.

Same thing happening to my 05 viii. I usually just get the fluid topped off every oil change and haven't had any problems BUT would definitely like a permanent solution. and if replacing the seal doesn't work then....... what would?

Do you have a 6 or 5 speed?

So your saying tranny fluid leaks out from where the input shaft seal is as well?

If i remember correctly, its about 2qts of fluid then fluid will start leaking.

Anybody else have this problem? For me personally the seal didn't fixed it.
