Throttle Body Shaft Seals

How many of you guys are running upgraded ones, like Mil.Spec for instance?

I am going to be tuned soon so I was looking into these since I know ix's are more prone to having shaft seals cracked. Seems to be like cheap insurance.

I just ordered them 2 days ago... Mine @ 23,000 are leaking a decent amount, and my buddies at same mileage are leaking hardcore.

Will let you know if it helps!

Just curious if the folks that have them installed them on their own. The thread started by mil.spec when they first came out showed the dimensions for the install tool, but I wasn't sure if people were putting them in with something else.

well the hardiest part for me was getting the new seal in, i ended up putting a nickel on top of the seal and tapping the nickel with a bolt and hammer and it went rite in, its a very tight fit!

My IX has 56k miles on it, and I've yet to hear a peep from my seals when I check for boost leaks. I'll probably change them anyways soon.

just replaced mine with the milspec ones. be very careful on the recessed one as it is alot harder to get in. One thing I found weird was that I was boosting at 25 before and now my gauge only reads 21?!

Mine have been leaking for well over a year and I just finally put mine in today. I had such a bad leak at the old ones that today with no leak I could actually hear the other leaks I had in some of the hoses coming from intake manifold. Replaced one but still can't find the other one. It is either behind or underneath the manifold. Such a pain in the sack.
