Help! non-starter :(
Help! non-starter :(
I was driving the car not too long ago, testing the turbo
when all of a sudden it just died on me
Once I got it home I plugged in my usb -> check cable and ran evoscan; NO, I repeat NO error codes!? I cleared the dts anyway and ran several checks;
Fuel pump - OK
Fuel regulator - OK
Injectors 1,2,3,4 - OK
I can't seem to do any electrical checks with it as it is an old Evo 4 (import)
Tried to load Ecuflash but kept on getting the 'no connection' problem (with unlocker running also)
I then turned it over on the starter and did a data-log; it basically says that the crank sensor = 1; so that is working, but I cannot measure anything relating to the coils of which there are 2. There is an immobilizer fitted (Viper) and the distance from the car that the fob worked, has diminished from around 80 feet to only 10 feet
could this be the problem? The battery is fine as it is new (well almost) and I have the start/charger hooked up whilst I play with evoscan etc.
Are there other things I can try in order to narrow the problem down a little more? I will point out that I have checked every HT lead with the engine turning over and there isn't a spark from any of them.
Bizarre eh?
Thanks guys.

No spark at all, from all 4 plugs.
I just did a recent DTS scan using EFI and it says; error 22 crank angle sensor.
On the datascan I read the index wrong, it says 'CrankSignalSw = 0' so I guess the crank sensor is buggered

I fitted a new Walbro pump and checked the relays, I also tested the pump and fuel actuators using Evoscan and they all worked. With it saying that it is the crank angle sensor within Evoscan and the fact that there is NO spark, sort of concludes the problem really (hopefully) so I am just waiting for the new one to turn-up and then we'll see.
