AC Compressor issue. Opinions wanted.

Having an issue with my AC. Being as its hot as hell here in the mid Atlantic region, I've been putting my AC through its paces. Yesterday I noticed the AC would stop blowing cold for awhile and then kick back on and be fine. What I'm trying to figure out is if it sounds like a compressor problem or a freon problem. The car is an 05 with 125k. AC has never been charged or messed with. I really don't want to have to pay $75 bucks for this to be diagnose by a tech, then pay for a recharge and a new compressor to boot. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Jason

Your problem is very common, normally its the A/C clutch needs reshimmed.
Look in here, everything about it, service kit part numbers, short how to write up.

Get the shim kit with c clips also and replace your compressor coil while in there.

Also check the fan. The nut came off on my Evo 9 causing the fan to stop spinning and putting strain on the compressor.

All great info guys. Looks like I should take my own advice and use the search button more often. The links helped out a bunch, As I got the part numbers for the service kit and coil. They are on their way. Too hot to be messin around with no air!
