PO300 after TBelt install, EVO IX

Looks like most people with the P0300 have rough running before it flashes the code. But I was just sitting at a stop sign idling and it came on. Didn't even sputter at all. I went to Oreilly's to read the code: PO300 and P0011. P011 is VVT (which was a problem with this car about 3 years ago and VVT solenoid was replaced). I then cleared the codes with the reader and drove back home (Approx. 20 miles) and it has not returned yet.
I can't think of what I did wrong, other than NOT disconnecting the battery during the Tbelt install. Oops. The Crank Position Sensor has to be removed, as you may know. Does it (Crank Angle Sensor) need a "reset" to make it happy (i.e. disconnect battery)? (But I think most people disconnect their battery during this procedure, unlike silly me who forgot this time)...

I think you should be fine. I had my CEL come on after the dealer did my timing belt install. I didn't ask what the code was, but the service guy said it was the crank position sensor was removed or engine was rotated during the process. But they cleared it and never came back on.

It is only the VIII that runs funny when the p0300 code is set.

balance shaft. it needs to be rotated twice for every one belt rotation i believe, mine wasnt done right either when the timing belt was done. it causes extra vibrations in the engine which triggers the false code

while i dont have mivec, my VIII will through a p0300 if i let it idle too long, iv asked the guys at Dynotech about it and they said its just noise in the motor/clutch (or balance shafts, witch i dont have)...can make a false code. mine tends to clear itself after so many key cycles.
anyway i dont think the belt install itself has any relation to the code. more times then not when you do a t-belt the car runs.. or it dont.

An out-of-phase timing belt CAN throw false P0300 codes if the harmonics are able to trip it. Just because you get the P0300 doesn't necessarily mean its definitely from the timing belt phasing though.
