Suggestions: Should IC be next?
Hello all! My first time posting in these forums but definitely have been lurking for years.
I've had my IX MR for 6 years now, and i'm finally modding it w/ basic bolt ons.
So far here is what I have and will have soon.
Apex'i power intake with induction box
Buddy Club Spec III 80mm cat-back exhaust
Mil.Spec 100 cell HFC
MXP 3" downpipe
Power Division GSC S2 cams, lifters, springs, retainers
CCI Stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel
Walbro 255 fuel pump
RC or FIC 1000 injectors
ARP head studs
Also getting a Perrin 3-port EBC when I get my tune either at GST Tuning or FFTech. So far I'm leaning towards FF Tech by just some recommendations of friends. But both are good options.
So the reason for this post is that I'm planning to replace my full ic piping and looking at the ETS full IC kit w/ short route and a mini battery kit as well. Is it worth it to just get the whole 3.5" intercooler kit w/ the piping? Will the intercooler be beneficial w/ the mods I'm putting or will that ~$500 be better put to something else.
It's a DD but i'm planning to go to a few track days in the following year.
and non-power related mods..
Swift Spec-R
Girodisc Stage 2 curved vane slotted rotors
Girodisc Magic Pads
Goodridge brake lines
Thanks!

He lives in Calif. & should be thinking about running E85 which will put him close to, if not above, the 400 dyno jet no.
Id say get the FMIC & short route piping plus the mini battery

Brakes should be decent but will probably change fluids before tracking (currently using pentosin). The clutch should be good for the expected power gains. I also installed a blox lower motor.
The thing w/ getting the swift spec-r springs rather than coilovers were all due to cost. I also have cambers set at -1.7 for the front and -1 for the rear.
I'm not planning to track every weekend since I'm going to coincide with certain events where I have friends going. Probably a handful times a year only.

I was actually really looking at going E85, but the closest E85 station to me is around 25 miles, and I don't think i'm disciplined enough to go out 25 miles just to get gas every week. I could get a tank and carry it around or keep at home.. Just not quite sure if i'm ready for that hassle.
I'm really set on getting a licp... was gonna get the upper but then I found out that w/ my apexi induction box, i needed to go short route w/ a mini battery. So I mentioned to my boss (wifey) that if it was possible to get the IC while i was at it, and she said yes, therefore I have this extra $500 to spend, but just wanted to get inputs if it is what is the right thing to do.
If I go w/ just LICP, then I would have a little bit more to play with.. price of the uicp and battery kit and intercooler.
I have a clearence issue on my six speed with the ets short route. But Im not running the ets IC. Idk its weird. ill adjust the pipe and it will be smooth as butter. But a few tries later it will be back to the same. solid start tho

What part was was the clearance issue at? 3" pipe on the cold side?
What other drivetrain mods would you suggest w/ my reasonable budget. Essentially, most of this parts have been purchased w/ the exception of the ic kit.

those springs will work very well - no need to overkill w coilovers. i have gtworx springs struts.
you might also want to look into swapping some of the oem bushings

I think the IC is falling out of favor.. but definitely needs something else since i already got the "OK".
So i've never done ECU tuning ever in my life for any of my previous cars, so the question is... how easy is it to swap back and forth, I would have a harness to just switch it myself, so does that mean back to shop to get it swapped? Thanks for answering this noob question.
