Weird problem with the car...What could be causing this
Hey guys, I tried to search this problem but have not seen anything like it. I don't even know how to describe the issue but the idle is rough and the while the car is still on it looses power to the radio, and all the gauges. I have a video to show what I mean because I don't know how to explain it well.
I do have GSC cams, Walbro fuel pump, Full Buschur TBE, Boost controller, and the car is tuned.
Here is a link to the video:
Once again the car is still on and running at all times during this video

What the **** so the car is running and all of the sudden the gauges and electronics go off then they suddenly work again ? Check the fuse box and see if all the fuses and everything else is plugged in correctly and not just barely touching dont forget the harnesses on the side of the fuse box, also check the harness in the back of the cluster.

Turned out to only be the battery. Replaced it and everything is running fine now. Do you guys think that maybe the alternator is going bad? and that is what was causing the issues. I had just replaced this battery in late January.
I had the same problem once i put my gauges in and sub i ended up going with the optima yellow top and everything runs perfect now i checked my alternator and it was still good to go so im guessing it was just the battery

So the problem started happening again even with the new battery. So I guess you guys were right about it being the alternator. I just had to have the car towed home.
Process of elimination-
1. Now that your car is where it can be fixed start by testing your alternator.
2. If it is not the alternator, You need to focus on some type of connection especially ground connections that provide power to the dash and gauges.
-GM mid 2000 pickups had this exact same issue where they had a faulty or loose ground that would allow the dash lights and cluster to turn off and on intermittently.
3. Start with that and best of luck!

Dam the alternator is a SOB to remove. I did mine by myself, and it was a three hour job for me being my first time removing it. Just to find out the alternator wasnt bad. The wire going from the battery to the alternator had come loose and was making a bad connection. SO the lesson here is. Check everything before buying parts!
