Would love to see one of those for Toyota...always wondered about most of their model names. Nissan too for that matter...

I know that Corolla is Japanese for flower petal or something like that. Subaru is the Japanese word for the Pleiades, a star cluster in the constellation Taurus.

I heard all toyota models are named after flowers. Just a rumor to my knowledge though...

celica is japanese for "new" as used in designs. like "new body" or "new style"

SUPRA means "above" like above all others..

ECHO is to mean "to see again" this was to mean to see a new type of car. a new breed of cars.

Camry is a play on the japanese eord "cymry" which means "for the group of people" think what volkswagon means... literally people's car.

tacoma means to discover a new way of doing things..this was to symbolize toyta's new of style of small trucks...after the failure of the T100

Celica is another play on the japanese word "Celca" which means "to have good value"

100 points to anyone who can say what CALTY means...without looking on the internet
