On the ix the you can only adjust the exhaust cam (mivec takes care of the intake) and from what I have read there are little if any benefits to adjusting the exhaust cam for a DD, anything you gain you'll be giving up elsewhere. Which you can do with your cam selection anyway.

Cam gears are not on my list for my car. Unless you need to have the looks your money is better spent elsewhere.

Agreed that cam gears aren't needed.

GSC S2's are good, and they will cost you around 550 shipped. GSC beehives and ARP head studs, around 450 shipped, installation + tune shouldn't set you back more than a grand.

It sucks, im right around your HP now, 380whp, 400tq on a dynojet, and I know if I put more power into this car, I'm probably looking at an engine rebuild in a few years time if not sooner. As much as I love the Evo, its over 6 years old, and I think I'm ready to move onto something else. I'm saving my pennies for a new car that starts where the Evo left off.

blasphemy, you'll probably end up spending more in the long run getting rid of the evo, built engines are actually pretty inexpensive, especially if your core is good. Going RWD? or what?

I already put down a deposit at my local BMW dealership for first dibs at the next generation M3 coupe...Right now, it looks like a 2 year wait, with the sedan coming out next year as a 2014 model, and then coupe to follow in 2014 as a 2015 model.

LOL! I sold my BMW to buy an Evo! Hahaha! I'd agree if I had $75K to splurge, which I would then buy a Nissan GTR. Cheapest supercar on the market....

So I have 1650cc fuel injectors with a stock fuel rail. People have been telling me to upgrade the fuel rail now during this camshaft mod so that in my next tune it won't kill the mpg. What type of fuel rail do you guys recommend?

Wait what?

How the hell do you degree cams with Adjustable cam gears?

Also to the OP, 3k seems a bit high just for an install and a tune. Shop around, get options. If you've got a mivec head then yes, cam gears would not be as useful as a non Mivec head. Also race chip? You've got a tuneable ecu stock. You don't need a "race chip".
