Yes so is this just T belt failure ? did you slap a new belt with the new install? adjustable gear by chance? Anything other to go off of?

If your a/f is right & your not overboosting, which 91 is mid grade here 94 is pump in my town. The tuner should have been able to prevent any knock.

I love threads where everyone just takes random guesses, tries to blame all kinds of people, etc....

Take it apart, see what went wrong, then post it up in here, until then it's just a pissing game.

I'm with him.

Granted, I've seen brand new OEM tensioners fail on DSM's within a couple hundred miles. So I really wouldn't rule it out

Yes I'm sure, but i won't know till Thursday what exactly happened. I left the car in L.A. And will pick it up on Wed. I hope it is NOT the BS delete since that will mean the engine has to come out again. The Gates racing belt was used for 900 plus miles and the tensioner was brand new. Another possible lesson that if it's not broke don't fix it.

who am I blaming? This might be me *****ing but im not making you read it. Hit the button in the upper left corner and read something else then, I'm simply trying to get other possible opinions. Trust me, I can **** a mile.

Opinions don't really matter at this point tho. It's not like if 10 people say it was the tensioner and 5 say it was the belt, that it's magically going to change what actually occured

I wasn't pointing a finger at you, or anyone for that matter so relax bud. The other guy I'm guessing was referring to people bashing MAP, not you. I was just making a point that I have seen all kinds of NEW tensioners fail. Parts store ones, as well as OEM. IMO, that's more then likely what happened. Take it apart and go from there.
