Evo FAIL AGAIN

FML!!!!!!

ok, so I posted on May 18th that I blew my engine at Button Willow raceway, well the new one didnt last long. This is my list of mods on the OEM motor when it blew the first time.

ARP Head studs
Grim Speed 3 port boost solenoid
Cat delete
Megan downpipe with HKS cat back
FP Black turbo
Megan O2 housing
Deatschwerks 1000cc injectors
255 Walbro
Upper and Lower AMS Intercooler pipes
Large front mount intercooler
272 Kelford cams
GS beehive valve spring w/Titanium retainers and valve seals
AEM intake
HKS none recalculate blow off valve
6 puck ACT clutch
Gates racing belts
Omni 4 Bar map sensor

All steel braided clutch lines with restrictor pill removed

So now I have a new MAPerformance stage 2 engine and also rebuilt my trans through Jacks Racing trans. My Gates racing belts were only used for 900 miles so I reused them. It ran a little over 400whp on Ca grade 91oct. The timing belt broke or the belt tensioner for the timing belt broke.........FUUUUUCKK!!!!!!!!! I cant win, I swear..... Come to find out the oil pump is lock up solid. Sending it back to MAP to be checked out.

MAP engine -
2.0 with 9:3.1 Weisco Pistons and Manley H-beam rods. All ARP studds Main and Head.

I don't get what boost pressure has to do with a t-belt failure.

Me either..

Sounds like something went wrong with the timing belt install or you had a defective belt. Regardless, I know how you feel OP. I just spun a rod bearing on my 7,500 mile motor and am not looking forward to dishing out 2 grand next week.

I'm going to wait till I can inspect it more closely but if I feel that had to do with their balance shaft removal kit then yes, for sure their gonna hear from me. It's another possibility that the oil pump housing failed from the balance shaft being removed. When I was having the engine built I asked about any issues since they don't have anything backing the oil pump once like AMS does when the balance shafts are removed but they claimed to never have experienced an issue. Well, I will see soon and pics will be posted.

I highly doubt it was an issue with the MAP BS delete kit that caused your issue. Are you 100% sure you tensioned the belt properly?
