You need to come out to an event soon. I'm quite confidant you'd feel very different with a little taste of the Evo's roots.

As for still being interested in an Evo. oh yeah. Right now I'm just a couple months away from having the slocus paid off, then gonna save for a few months, and probably pick up an Evo and move the MR2 and slocus to the back garage. Though I plan on keeping the slocus as the daily driver, it's just dirt cheap and fun.

MikeC - Try to avoid the simplicity for a moment and expand your thought. What's the point of stating troll in this thread?

$60 dollars for a damn oil change? Someone is robbing you blind.

If you cant find a cheaper place to do it(which is unbelievable), learn to do it yourself.

I guess it's all relative. I'm accustomed to paying out of my buttocks for service/parts. My previous ride was a '93 300zxtt. 17" Michelin Pilot MXX3s were $250 a pop. Oil changes w/synthetic oil cost $60, and that car didn't have a back seat! Moreover, it was basically useless in Chicago winters.

I "bring my own oil" to the dealership and let them change my oil. They charge me less than $15 to change it, filter included. I buy my oil at the local Costco for about $23 a case (6 quarts, takes 5).

So for less than $35, I don't change my own oil

Exactly. I buy Mobil 1 from Wal Mart or Target for like $4 per quart then bring it to the dealer service center. The dealer charges about $15 for oil filter and labor. Total cost is about $35. That way I pay about the same as you would at your local shop and I still get the dealer service stamp in my book.

I can't believe people would pay $60 for an oil change!

you know everyone can say what they want about warrenties. what is gonna break the clutch? they wont replace it...the motor if it blows up they i will blame it on the dumpin clutches and any mods you have. who cares if you have a 7y/100mi it wont help you with anything. if something breaks you put something better on. i bought my car and im 18 stuff is more expensive because its a SPORT CAR not an economy car. you can't put the 4 for $80 tires on it oh well. same with the oil changes $60? DIY.

2003 EVO is excluded, but they don't say if the 2004 is.
