How about those leather recaros? Mitsubishi could have offered leather recaros and a better warranty maybe 3 years down the road, but they are blunt about it and change it after 1 year. Oh well, i guess its part of the "evolution" process, where it only stays the same for one year...
YEP!! I traded in my Evo VIII for an Acura NSX after only about 2 or 3 months of EVo ownership. Mitsubishi straight out lied to me, and had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They made me so mad that I took the hit on trade-in just to not have to deal with them. Grrr....

How bad of a hit do you think I would take if I were to say trade it in for a KIA?(example) Trade in the Evo for a used 4,000-6,000 dollar car.

It doesn't matter what you're trading in for. Trading in an avg 2003 Evo with avg of 15,000 miles on itis probably going to get you a standard offer from a dealership of about $22k. So take what you owe and do the math; are you over or under..

If I'm correct I'll probably take a $4,000 hit if they give me $22,000. Which I am willing to take.

"The 2004 Galant ads also will feature the company's new 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, announced this morning at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The new warranty is now standard on all Mitsubishi Motors products sold in the United States, starting with the 2004 model year. This includes coverage for the high-performance Lancer Evolution, winner of Automobile Magazine's "Automobile of the Year" for 2004 and the Sport Compact Car Magazine's 2004 "Car of the Year." The warranty also will apply retroactively to any original owner who already purchased a 2004 model Mitsubishi vehicle. "

Was offered 25k from a dealer on a trade-in deal. I didn't think i could do any better selling it here or on the auto trader. Also didn't want to deal with letting strangers test drive the vehicle. Like i said, because dealers are letting the evo go for close to invoice, its very hard to resell these things. Yes, i'm aware that any new car depreciates the most in its firs tyear. If you plan on keeping your car for awhile, this doesn't pose a problem.

DUDE that's not normal...
