Tactrix cable ?'s

So, as my previous thread states my CEL is on due to no CAT. I was told to use the plug defouler or my other option is this cable. My question is.. My car has already been tuned / ecu flashed if I get this cable and have someone do "remote tuning" or take it to a tuner, will they have to do a complete retune or is it as simple as just hooking it up and removing it? I'm don't have alot of knowledge on ECU/flashing/tuning, I was also told it will not pass even with it cut off if it has Tephra installed? Not sure if it does or not tbh.

a tuner, or experienced enthusiast, can make just that change to your ECU, so you won't get a P0300.

The tuner can also change some settings that make the OBD2 scan from a state emissions test "auto-pass".

Don't know where you are in NC, but Spec Ops Motorsports in Fayetteville can make these changes for you. I'm sure they can work out a deal, other than paying for a whole tune. But, tbh, if it's been a while since you had one, may as well get a fresh tune to the way your car is currently running, and they'll at the same time, make those fixes you need for CEL and emissions test.

So has anyone done this before? Car has already been flashed, if I hook this cable up does it reset anything etc, can he just add a CEL delete to my current tune?

How hard is remote tuning? I was told 25$ to turn CEL off and pass inspection.

Thanks.

You really need to read and research so you can get an idea of the Tactrix. Arestg gave you some good advice take it to somebody that knows!

1. Do some reading and determine if what you want to do is possible
2. Buy a laptop with windows - 350 bux
3. Buy a Tractrix - 200 bux
4. Download EcuFlash - free
5. Copy the ROM image from the car onto your laptop
6. Check the ROM identifier # and add the periphery bits code to that ROM's XML file
7. Change the bit you want changed in the ROM image on your computer
8. Reflash the car

Anyway, that is what you do. Not hard but a little daunting the first time around.
