Transfering for 8 Months! Need a little bit of info!

Ok everyone,

Well my company has decided to transfer me to a different location for 6-8 months. I cant take the Evo with me so its gonna be sitting around for that time. I'm really just concerned that all sorts of stuff will be F@#ked up when I get back. I dont have a garage to put it in to. I guess my question is what do I need to do to make sure she will be in good working order when I get back!!! Thanks guys!

Do you have a friend that you trust that can drive it around the block? Or maybe you can rent a storage garage for the time period. But if you dont trust a friend then I would drain the tank! and put the car on jack stands to prevent flat spots in the tires! And when you get back a fresh tank of gas! And an oil change! I would aslo buy a car cover to prevent scratches! GL

Don't have anyone that can drive it around, I do have a car cover that I can lock once I put it on. I will drive it for another week or so and run her out of gas, the oil has only been in the car for about 200 miles but I guess I will have to change it regardless. I'm kind of worried about squirrels and rats getting into the engine bay and doing their own version of a wire tuck!!! I'm going to take the battery out before I leave as well. Let me know if anyone thinks of anything else!!!

I would definitely look into seeing if a friend has an extra garage spot or renting a storage unit for you car. Can't be more than 100 per month at most. Only bad part about a storage unit is no one is looking over it.

Maybe you have a friend that lives in an apt. complex that can add an extra garage. Get them to rent one and pay the difference. I know in my apt complex its $80/per month for a garage but its only fits 1 car. I know I could rent 2 if I wanted but eff that.

I will look into it, but out here all I hear about is Horror stories about people getting their storage unit/ Garage broken into and cleaned out, that would be a nightmare to come back too!!

car cover, unless your being deployed then have it shipped or driven to the city your going to and put it in storage ? lol better then being even further away.. dont know the circumstances .. take out battery, wheels, radio , anything to prevent from being stolen. storage units are not expensive at all actually i think in my town a nice one with cameras/security its 15 a month.

Well I think I found a solution, a buddy of mine has a shop with an old lift in the back. Im going to put the car up on the lift. Hopefully that keeps the rats away and prevents flat spots on the tires, I just hope all my bushings are going to hold out for that long!!
