What trims if any came with HID stock on the 8's. Will the 9's headlight housing and other hid parts bolt on without any bumper trimming or fabbing?

 

yes some 8's came with HID's stock,mine did. And yes 9 headlights will bolt right in.

 

These are the options I think they carried at the time.

03-04 GSR Evo 8 HID with foglights
04 GSR Evo 8 NON-HID
05-06 GSR NON-HID
05-06 RS NON-HID
05-06 GSR HID with no foglights
05-06 GSR SSL HID with foglights
05-06 MR HID with foglights
06 MR SE HID with foglights

This is not entirely true. IF your car already came with HIDs, then evo9 hid headlights will bolt right up and function correctly. However, if your car does not have hid, using a stock a HID setup is a royal pain in the butt to get working (electrical wise).

I am pretty sure ALL 03's had HID headlights. I have never seen an 03 that didn't personally.

As far as I know and remember all 03's came with HID's. 04 and up is when the started making different trim levels with different options.

 

All 03 USDM Evos came through with HIDs.

 

All 03s have HID.

In 04, HIDs were a standalone option.

In 05 and 06, they had the SSL package for the GSR, which included HIDs.

 

I was going to say my 03 came with them as well, but that clears that up, ha. Actually my 03 came with weird options, it has HIDs, sunroof, gauge pack, and it seems like there was something else it came with that the early evos didnt come with.

 

Since this was bumped, I figured I should fix this for posterity's sake...

Only the following Evos came with factory HID and fogs:

All 03-04 GSR had HID and fogs.
All SSL, MR, and SE had HID and fogs.

And while I'm at it, SSL was only 04-06; MR was only 05-06; SE was only 06.
