Angry So my friend shows me.....

he shows me a video of a wrx sti vs an evo viii that he ran across on dc++.... the video shows a stock evo running against a modded sti... my buddy says this shows that my evo can't handle an sti... as i watch the evo beats the sti cleanly off the launch and through second gear, and then i hear the evo's engine rev's drop dramatically.. obviously the guy missed the gear change and the sti takes advantage of it. sheesh

that sucks, every video for the most part, or like 75% of the video's i've seen with good drivers, the evo wins against the STi most of the time on the strait aways, but i've never seen one loose ** unless it was a bad driver ** around corners or in an Auto X.

The evo is said to have a bad *** suspension and handling and all that neat stuff. Where the sti has some more body roll and so forth and doesnt handle as well, but can erally tear it up on the strait aways.

I believe the STi has a little better 1/4 mile time than an Evo stock, that extra 30 or so hp shows that a little bit there. And especially if it's a modded STi versus a stock Evo, the STi should win.

No big deal..just have fun going in more directions than forward

haha so your friend takes this video that he downloads off the INTERNET of a streetrace as evidence? =D That's pretty funny. I mean its kind of a known fact that the STI has more power than an evo, not to mention a modded STI vs a stock evo. He's also using that as his only criteria as to which car is better which says something about how much car knowledge this guy really has.

I have over 20GB of car vids on my hd. I can show you almost any car beating any other car on the street. I don't think that civics are faster than vipers cause of a video.......

your friend. I mean that makes as much sense as saying "Look I strapped a rocket to my ***...that makes me an astronaut!"

Just like anything else videos and information are vulnerable to Perception Management

Stock for stock, my STi would tear my evo a knew one on the straights... No doubt though, my EVO would own the AutoX... Stock for stock...

Now, my STi is not even close to stock in the suspension or the motor, and it would handle my EVO in any situation other than the steering comfort. You just can't beat the EVO's quick steering and smaller wheel. Other than that, my STi is a monster in the straights and not to be messed with in the turns when compared to my EVO.

But.... My EVO is bone stock.... Not for long though.

My sunroofless stock evo on 94 would never back down from a race with a Stock STi.

Only for you US boys, the UK and domestic markets get the 2.0ltr. In that case the EVO will always win, be it in a straight line, or on the curvy bits!

why the hell would you be comparing a modded STI to a stock EVO anyways. i would hope that the STI win, if not then there's something wrong.
