HKS CF Evo bombed at the Tsukaba
HKS CF Evo bombed at the Tsukaba with Pix
i just got my new issue of Option magazine and they were reviewing recent track times at the Tsukaba ....
HKS CF Evo ran a 1 min 2 sec on the track ... to put in perspective ... the C-west CF S2000 (at 290hp NA) usually runs 1 min 1 sec ..
one of the thing the article seem to mention was their surprise at the time ... and their disappoint that this car couldn't break the intended 58 seconds
my japanese is not very good .. so I can't translate the article that went with it ... it probably explained why the car messed up .. =)
on a brighter side of the news .. the new Cyber Evo ran 55 seconds which broke the HKS Kansai Evo7's old lap time of 56 something
the Amusepowerhouse all CF GTR with over 600hp only did 57 seconds ....
i will get some pictures of the magazine article up later tonite if I have time ...

How is that possible?
If that's true, that's a massive disappointment. I was sure that was a bonafide 55 second car.
On a side note, I wish we had the equivalent of Tsukuba here in the US. It's a shame, since we have such great tracks like Road Atlanta, Elkhart Lake and Lime Rock, to name a few.

Just remember that was probably just a shakedown run. I'm sure once they get all the bugs out it will run much faster.
On a sidenote though, the Jun hyper lemon GDB ran a 58 sec. on their shakedown run.

HKS stated earlier that their goal is to break into the 54 seconds with this car ... I am not sure what the HKS Racing Altezza ran, but I thought it was around 55 seconds ...
like I said earlier .. I am sure the article explained why the high lap top .... but too bad I can't read it well enough other than a few words here and there ...
