Extended Warranty Deductable?

Got a new Evo and of course the dealer is trying to sell us the extended Mitsubishi warranty. When we got the brochure it mentioned about deductables. I thought this warranty might cover the repairs 100%. Does anyone know what the deductable amounts are? The dealer never mentioned there are deductable amounts.

AreWeNotMen,
I think that is what they are getting at.

The deductible will depend on the warranty. When I got mine it was through a third party warranty company, not Mitsu direct. It was set up such that I would have no deductable if I got my car worked on at the dealership that sold it to me and $50 if I took it elsewhere. Ask them for a copy of the contract and read it before you make a decision. I had an extended warranty on my 1997 Eclipse GS-T and it worked like a charm and more than paid for itself. Mitsubishi’s have some expensive parts and the Evo has some really expensive parts. If you intend to mod your car than it may not be the best purchase. If you are not into that, then it may be the way to go.

Best wishes,
f86sabre

It will be either $100, $50 or $0. It will be the same deductible all the time and anywhere you go. The difference is how much you pay for the warranty.

In other words, a 6/100 will cost $x or $x plus $y or $x plus $yy depending on deductible choice of $100, $50 or $0 respectively. If you pay $x for the warranty then each time you use it you will pay $100 ded and if you pay $x plus $yy for the warranty then each time you use it you will pay $0 deductible.

Usually the $100 ded is the way to go. It costs less and if you never use it it doesn't matter. If you do use it you can probably scrape up $100. Usually you will pay about $250 less for the warranty with the $100 ded so unless you use it at least 3 times you come out ahead overall.

I hope that helps some.

That is correct. they don't know the cost of the deductible because they already know that the extended warranty (and the factory 3/36 warranty) is barely worth the paper it is written on. If Mitsu has any reason to think you have EVER raced or modified your car, you are very likely to have your warranty claims turned down.

In other words, they are suggesting that you not bother buying the addtl warranty because it is believed to be a waste of money.

I've got the 411 on this subject. I also have the ext, warranty it's
a third party one no deductable. and mitsu can't void **** on it because it has nothing to do with them. So modded or not take it to your "friendly" neborhood repair facility. And they will take care of you. No questions asked.

Mine was $100 dectuable now that I am looking at my old warrentee info. Not sure if you have the same warrentee company as I did.

Also if you read the fine print in the back of the order you signed for your warrentee it states that if the car is changed or raced or anything of that nature it will not be covered if it is found to be related to your changes or hardship on the car. Although they will cover items such as wiper motors ,heater,ac. stuff like that.
