Suggestions on next step?

My evo 8 currently has these mods:

Buscher turbo back exhaust
Aem intake
MBC set at 21 psi
280/272 cams
AMS front mount

My injector duty cycle is pretty high at about 95%

I was wondering whether I should get injectors (if so brand recommendations) or hard inter cooler piping.

My tuner said I could safely add about 5 psi with upgraded injectors first. Hard pipes would obviously help however I am on a budget or I'd do them both at the same time.

What would you recommend?

Injectors. I wouldn't bother doing the upper IC pipe unless you have money you don't care about wasting, and I would do the lower IC pipe if there is left over money since they are fairly cheap and can find them used on this site.

are you on e85 or non-stock turbo? i can't see you needing injectors with those mods. LICP is probably your best bet.

Are you on the stock injectors & fuel pump?

You are needing a fuel pump & Inj: Walbro 255 & some RC1000 or RC1200's

Stock turbo, stock fp. I read that 95% duty cycle isn't very safe.

Then you need a walbro 255 and your injector duty cycle will go down quite a bit. Stock injectors are good for atleast 375whp on a dynojet.

Not that it will explode right away, but routinely hitting anything much over 25 psi on stock turbo is gna to limit its life.

As stated already, a walbro 255 will bring down the ink duty cycle. The real question is what is your goal for the car, as there's no reason to build it up twice!

I ran out of stock injector with a 255 fp once I added hks 272s on my stock 8 turbo setup. Upgraded to rc750 (this was a long time ago before running 1000+cc injectors was feasible for the average street car). I'm on hta green now, still with same 255 pump and 750cc and I'm hitting 90% idc with just over 400whp running 28psi on 93. I would get fuel pump and injectors. There's lots of options for pumps and injectors. Ask your tuner what he recommends. I've had great luck with RC injectors. Lots of people run FIC too. For a stock turbo car, pump gas, a 255 should do fine. I would go with around a 1000cc injector which will give you plenty of room to spare. Again, whoever tunes ur car will have a preference of fuel components.

Piping is helpful. LICP does the most. Will help with spool. UICP is nice if ur got spare $. Short route arguably adds a few hp and may help response since its like 12" shorter than stock. It does make ur bay look nice and gets rid of the stock black couplings which are known to expand with higher than stock boost. I've always liked fit and finish of ETS piping.

25-26psi is pretty standard for 93 octane tuning as long as your have a good fmic and proper fuel supply.

^ well put

You should only need a few things. My setup is making 400 @30psi / 93oct

Evo 8 with 9 turbo, O2 dump, 3" tbe, walbro 255, kelford 264 cams, supertech springs/retainers, 1200cc, forge rs, short route pipes, ets 3" cooler

My next step after this is going to be either 9 turbo or fp black. So I should probly do 1000cc injectors my tuner recommended fic. So I'll be looking for those. But before upgrading turbo I should definitely do fuel pump correct?
