If you do get the info on it let me know if you don't want to buy it back or even if you can. I'm looking for an RS.

I will let you know. I already asked my insurance company if I could buy it back. They said absolutely. I have a full evo 9 interior and stuff so I would definitely buy it back. Car runs and drives. Still waiting on estimate..

Heard back from insurance, car will not be totaled. They estimated damages at just over $8,000. I will probably fix it myself if I can source all parts.

I didn't think it looked totalled... Quote seems a tad low though IMO. I was in an accident with similar damage and it ran me close to 12,000 CAD.

Best of luck to you man

I think totaled is 80% cost to repair and value of vehicle.

It all depends on who the insurance company goes through to source parts. Mine were sourced by the dealer when I had similar front end damage on my silver 9 SE. Totaled mainly because of the ACD pump being shattered. 15k damage. And the only body work it needed was a fender, two skirts, and a front bumper.

They wouldn't let me buy it back though. Geico....... Oh well, there is a Shep trans and Exedy twin sitting in a junk yard somewhere.....

Try to get them to total it out. It looks like it could be close enough. Then buy it back, make it into a project car, fix it for cheap, and enjoy.

Also what a shame... I too have an '04 RR RS with 98k miles on it. :\ But hey, as long as you get the car back and it's restored, no problem.

Yeah I'd definitely hope they totaled it and just buy it back. Looks like it shouldn't be too much to get back to perfect condition!

Find a nice body shop. Evo 9 bumper + this would be pretty much perfect.

OP, out of curiosity why are you putting this through YOUR insurance? If the story is that some other asshat had their car parked in the middle of the damn road why would you not run it through their insurance and on top of that sue their *** for negligence?

I was thinking the same thing after reading all of the responses. I am going to guess though that since the damage was on the passenger side of the car, that it may have not been parked in the literal middle of the street. Still though even if it was over the white line (side line) you must put signal flares warning oncoming traffic. Good thing its not totalled

Heh, just a bit off. It is an imperfect science though.
