Is this an OEM or aftermarket cat?

Hey I just bought my IX and it came with an apexi ws2 and downpipe, but it also had a cat. Since I only drive it on the track I decided to put a test pipe on it and pulled this one off. I'm going to sell it in the private threads, but I'm not sure if this is OEM or aftermarket. I noticed the oem's seem to have a three piece shield and this only has two. Could this be a high flow cat? The guy who sold me the car said it had a full apexi exhaust i wonder if the cat is part of that. Thanks for the help

yeah that's what I was thinking. I don't know what it is though or how to properly label it for sale in the private threads. I don't want to say its something and be something else. If it isn't stock, it must be an aftermarket high flow; which one is the question. If anyone can shed some light on this I would be very grateful.

Also, during the day I could actually see light through it. The image was hashed by the screens, but I could barely see light.

I'm betting more certainly aftermarket. A OE cat most likely would not have tig welds. Plus it looked nothing like my 9 OEM cat.

Thank you.. well I just tried to post a for sale thread but the site won't let me.. any input on why I would be blocked from doing that? Rather discouraging.

It looks like an ultimate racing 3" HFC. I have my old one sitting in my garage and the external/internal pics are almost 100% the same.

Me three

I had an Ultimate Racing high flow cat a few years ago and it looks identical to that one.

Thank you so much. Looks like its the ceramic substrate according to this thread--> which matches the cat. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...-50-miles.html
