I wetsanded that wing today for almost 4 hours with 800 grit, this was about an hour and a half into it. I am trying not to loose my patience. This is a first time project for me. I appreciate everybody's input.

Too high of grit. Use some 180 or 220 aluminium oxide or silicon carbide sandpaper. 800 grit is for finish sanding.

I don't know much about this but why don't you try some paint stripper to remove the clear coat which seems to be the bulk of the problem. Then wet sand your way up to 600 grit and begin polishing/buffing etc until you're at about 1500 - 2000 grit.

Like i said, I don't know much about this but it might be worth a shot.

The 3M di-noc is just carbon fiber vinyl. It's basically vinyl wrap. It comes in relatively large sizes so covering that portion of the wing would be no problem if that ends up being your last resort. Just do a quick google search and you'll get a better idea.

Chemical paint stripper will eat the epoxy resin in the carbon fiber.

I used 300-400 range, then when I have all the damage eliminated, Then a 2K clear coat and you're good to go. DO NOT USE A HOME DEPOT/Autozone clearcoat in a rattle can... you need a catalized clear coat.

If you don't have access to a compressor/spray gun, you can get some spray max 2K clear in a rattle can.

One can will be good for about 8 coats on a project this small. Use it all in one day as it will be useless a couple days after you inject the catalyst.

Fyi, for those who don't know. By catalized this poster means 2 part. A base and a catalyst. This is the best stuff.

Covering your carbon wing, with carbon vinyl, is like looking at your *****, and putting on a ***** printed condom.

Ditto, but at least a condom serves a purpose.

Sand it, re-clear it with a quality 2K clear and you will be good to go.
