Is this wing salvagable??
My buddy asked me to see if I could save this spoiler's life. Is it a waste of my time? Even if I wetsand the heck out of it will the discoloration even out? Will it ever look normal again? Suggestions?

I have done some work with CF and if it is down to the epoxy resin and past the clear coat you will need to re apply more resin. Just sand it down nice and smooth, coat in in properly mixed epoxy, then re apply clear. It is salvageable but it won't be easy or cheap. The epoxy is like 50 bucks a gallon :/
My wing was like that if not worse. I had it repaired at a shop and it looks good but you can see the damage by the different shades of coloring in the carbon.
I might have a chance to take a better picture of the faded wing tomorrow morning, but right now, this is all I have.

You really don't need to fix the epoxy if it is bad. Just sand it smooth and clear over it. Carbon fiber is very horribly strong, it is not going to break, from some wind on a car. Whole aircraft are built out of carbon fiber honeycomb.
