How could the car run without a map sensor? Is that even possible?

Really dude? Felt the need to point out a mistake 10 replies later? There was a spot of grease right where the P was and I thought it was an F.
First thing that came to mind was the car was bought used and had been converted to SD and the thread starter didn't know where the MAF was. I'm not an idiot.

No offense, just saying there are enough people on here that spread incorrect information or suggest part combinations they have no experience with. This just raises the amount of redundant threads and negatively impacts the collective knowledge base.

Well id say where did it go would be a better question. Unless there's setups out there that remove the use of a map sensor? If so i have never heard of it. Plus i have to believe there is a small pin hole in that quarter size seating thats left open which would definitely have something to do with stalling. Not to mention a nice boost leak. So if u dont know where it is than u have to search cuz all I can tell u is where it is supposed to be from factory. Nobody will be able to tell u where it went, cuz its ur car.

THere are evo 8 and 9's out there that comes like mine with no factory map sensor. Such as evo's in Australia and the UK. Don't know what mitsubishi was thinking when they made the car or what they put in replace of it.
