So last night I did a 1st and second gear pull and at the end of second my car died. Tried to restart and got nothing. The car cranks and wants to turn over but it just doesn't. If I start the car and just tap the gas pedal like crazy it'll start but run at like 500 Rpms and just die. It threw a code for p0340 cam shaft position sensor bank 1. It's a hard code as well. But after looking at every thread on this topic most people that replace the sensor still have the same problem after. Just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions before I'm out 70 bucks on a new sensor.

Do you have a logger or scan tool with live data viewing? If so crank engine and see if there is any cam signal. If you don't have a way to check that make sure it's plugged in and no damage to the harness is there and replace the sensor.
