Hey guys,

My EVO IX is starting but shuts off because power is being cut off to the fuel pump. Some evo techs I've talked to think its possibly the immobilizer. Can anyone confirm what the immobilizer controls? From what I have been able to find it seems like it only disables ignition. Is it tied into the fuel pump power system? If so is there a way I can physically bypass it? I have tried to disable the immobilizer in the ECU however that didnt seem to make a difference.

 

Power to the fuel pump comes from the fuel pump relay,however the relay is controlled by the ecu,the easiest way to diagnose it would be to actually see what you're missing in the circuit ( voltage,ground) ,i think the immobilizer only controls ignition but could be wrong,maybe the ecu turns the ground to the relay off (#21) after the immobilizer shuts the ignition off to prevent cylinder flooding,just a guess.
