Unbelievable Spy Pics of Sparco/Apexi Project Evo

This is a merged thread with a fairly comprehensive build-up coverage of the SPARCO/A'PEXI Evo. For more info on the car and the latest pics, you can also view the car at:

http://www.sparcoevo.com/heritage_prjcars_detail.asp?id=13 or, by going to the main Sparco website at www.sparcousa.com and clicking on "heritage" then "project cars".

ENJOY THE READING.......

Here some spy pics of the Sparco and Apexi project EvoVIII that has been top secret for the past three months. Apexi and Sparco are building the world's Ultimate Street/Race EvoVIII and wanted to share some spy photos of the one of a kind stuff featured on this car.....

More spy photos and tech info will be released prior to SEMA, where the EVO will be featured in Sparco's booth...

One of a kind 9 lb. complete Carbon hood built by Indycar and Formula One chasis builder. This is the lightest and most sophisticated carbon hood in the world, with crash zone safety features engineered into the underside to assist in the absorption of energy in a frontal impact. A matching rear trunk is also featured with enough strength to support a rear wing generating hundreds of pounds of downforce.

AND, the actual FIRST GIALLA CORSA front bumper in the USA on the Sparco EvoVIII taken before the car was sent to Apexi last month...

Oh man that carbon fiber hood is of rediculous quality. I take it that it was made by Reynard, seeing as how they are the only company thats in both indy cars and F1. Makes common carbon fiber hoods look really bad. Nice pics man.

To Answer Some Questions....

The Sparco/Apexi EVO is Blue By You and is a US Lancer Evolution and is being built in California by Sparco USA and Apexi USA. A major automotive aftermarket magazine is covering the complete build-up, so everything will be well documented.

We are speaking to the Carbon hood and trunk manufacturer about making these parts available to the public and they are very open to the idea. Pricing is T.B.D., but will be less than the 2k-3k quote mentioned above. Stay tuned........

I would pay to have that kind of quality. If I am going to end up spending $5K on suspension, $7K on turbo upgrades, etc., a few more K on the BEST CF would be no problem. Of course, I'll be eating Top Ramen (10 for $1.00) for the next 3 years. But my Evo will kick ***...

If that hood ever did get produced, I am interested. It looks really good with the Gialla bumper. I wonder how it would look with the CF C-West bumper.

Edit: Sparcoevo - PLEASE put me on whatever list is necessary.
