How do I?

Hi all!

I'm looking at changing the fuel pump on my evolution 6.
The easiest way seems to be to cut the fuel lines.
Now on the older evos the fuel lines are metal (see pic).

I'm enterested in not blowing myself up while doing this

What are your suggestions for cutting these lines without killing myself?

I've got the walbro 255, replacement tubing and ties.

Not really a beast haha.

stock motor, turbo etc.

I'm going to start with removing the filler cap for awhile to depressurise and remove fumes.

You think a sparkless and heatless saw blade will do it?

Why wouldn't it? just don't botch it hah. Id even file down the line after so it doesn't cut your replacements. And make sure you clean up good. May not want little metal flakes running around your lines.

I certainly won't be half assing it. Alternative is to drop the tank, exhaust etc etc.

I've seen people take the way of cutting the lines and have no issues down the road. You just have to be careful and take your time. Dropping the tank, exhaust and all that is such a time killer. Sure its the right way, but cutting the lines and adding a good, strong replacement hose works just as well.

I brought 100psi hose juuuuuust incase. That and ringing the **** off the clamp and using twice as many clamps aswell. Safety first!
