Coolant Leak
Coolant Leak
I'd like to start off by saying I did search and learned a lot about problems related to mine (weep hole, water pump freeze plug/housing, etc.) but I'd like to get confirmation.
I am experiencing a significant coolant leak on the passenger side of the car near the front. It is dripping off of the lower intercooler pipe near the drain valve.
The only things that could be leaking on the passenger side are:
Head gasket
Water pump
Coolant overflow tank/lines
Radiator core
Drain valve
Is there any potential leak point I am missing? Also, to people that have experience with head gasket and water pump leaks: I feel the LICP is too far forward for the leak to be caused by a HG/WP...although I suppose it could be jumping from component to component.
I really just need some more time tracing it down, but this started last night and it's hard not to think about while I'm stuck at work.
Regards,
-Duo

leaking on the actual lower pipe? that sounds like the coolant overflow drain tube to me. what do you see when you look in the coolant overflow? is it filling up to the top or is it sitting at the normal fill line?
if it was a weep hole in the waterpump it would drain all your coolant out pretty quickly and you would know.. it will make a mess on the timing cover and so forth.
headgasket could be possible if the resevoir is overflowing with coolant and going out the drain tube on the coolant tank.. that would mean the heads pushing coolant into the overflow tank which means the heads lifting.
it might also just be a simple quick fix such as the lower plastic drain valve on the radiator just vibrated its way loose and its slowly draining your radiator coolant.. that drain valve is directly above the lower pipe and it will hit the lower pipe if its draining off.
