Well I don't want to use 3M tape because I don't want it there all the time. I only want to slap it on in highly enforced areas or when I park near downtown or on the street. I already considered that, but it left glue stains on my buddy's Evo so I turned away from that idea.

I am really surprised it left glue stains. I used 3mm tape to attach a trunk lip. When i removed it a year later it all easily came off with a "goo gone" product.

if I needed a front plate, I would just ziptie it to the mesh in front of the ACD area I think. If it fits.
I even still have the hole in my bumper from the stock front plate holder (i first reg'd the car in TX). Anyway, I'd rock zipties somehow, and remove the plate for the track. simple, effective, done.
I am going to assume that looks matter to most people, more than to me, that are concerned with this topic though

I have seen others zip tie the plate to one of the two horizontal slits (above the FMIC and below the front mitsu emblem). You could line the edges of the plate with something padded to prevent it from scratching the paint. Some marterial that is sticky on one side and a soft pad on the other. There is something i am trying to describe between the underside of the rear wing pills and the trunk. Then u can simply cut the ziptie and remove anytime u want.

My state requires a front plate but I do not drive my Evo around often enough to really worry about it. I did get a ticket just before Christmas for not having one on my Integra though. I was going to fill in the license plate holes in the front bumper to make it a little cleaner.
So my idea for the Integra is to bend the top of the license plate 90* and drill 2 holes on the underside of the air dam and then fold up the bottom section of the license plate so that if would effectively make the license plate normal width but probably only a few inches tall. Does anyone know if that would be legal? I have done no research into it so it may be considering you wouldn't be able to see which state the plate is from the front, only the numbers/letters.

I got one of those universal mounts from Oriley's (plastic piece) attached it through the mesh on the lower right corner of the bumper (infront of the ACD pump) and screwed the plate to the mount. It's held up for at least two and a half years so far. It is removable but I might not go as far as temporary. Perhaps playing with the mounting options you fab up something that could be removed quickly and easily.

To the OP, I used 3m double sided tape because I didn't want to drill holes in the bumper in case I were to ever sell the car to someone who doesn't need a front plate... Maybe try some really strong velcro? Not sure if that would hold up and I don't want to be liable if your front plate comes flying off LOL

I ended up using two L brackets from Ace hardware and attached 4 rare earth metal magnets to them. I double sided taped 4 stacks of rare earth magnets to my 9 bumper above the intercooler. Either the left or right side went works. I'll post pics later, but so far it's good up to 70-75 mph. No tickets! I left my local beat cop a Merry Xmas note on it and he took it lol
