Temporary front license plate ideas

Hi guys, I know this has been a widely talked about issue, especially here in California and other states that require front license plates. I recently just got popped for no front plate twice in one month and both times while parked (once in a parking garage and once in front of my apt) and after they "lost" any record of my request for an extension I had to pay $96 dollars for the first one and still have to correct the second one for a fee of $25. After this fiasco I figured the off chance of getting hit a couple times a year and paying the $25 dollar fee is no longer reasonable since the parking enforcement is getting more and more **** here in Santa Barbara.

I'm hear to tap some collective evom brain power for some solutions. Like most of you, I don't want to drill my beautiful 9 bumper. And I've never been bothered while I've been driving around, only when I'm parked (usually by disgusting parking meter maids who are the work horses behind parking violation fees and income for the city). So I'm looking for temporary mount solutions that I can affix my license plate onto my bumper while I'm parked and take it off when I return.

I've seen the no drill solution on SiliconTek's thread here:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-no-drill.html

It's pretty genius but I still don't like the aesthetics of the mounts when the plates are off.

I've also seen the hideaway plates but since our cars are so low, I feel like the rails will be destroyed in no time and render them useless

Link for reference: http://swiftmotorsports.com/index.ph...oducts_id=1838

So my question is have you guys come up with any cool solutions for temporary or non evasive methods to mount a plate?
I'm contemplating building a magnet set up with a bracket and mount from home despot or something. But I just wanted to see if I've missed an even niftier solution.

I dont run a front plate on my evo but on my audi I bent the bottom part of the plate flat about a 1.5" up and drilled and screwed it to the bottom of my front lip on the drivers side. It lookeds pretty cool and since the bottom is folded the plate is a little smaller and doesnt look so big

Although you might want to put it on the side, this is what I did. I used an extra clip from a GoPro camera and made a bracket out of radio straps to mount mine. Completly removable and cant see the clip once the plate is removed. Works perfect.

I am in the same position, but just have not gotten around to doing it.

My plan for my evo 8 bumper is to use the two mounting holes to mount the bracket. Then instead of drilling, I am going to use two sided (3mm) tape on the back side of the bracket. This will avoid having to drill the bumper and also avoid scratching, while securing it to the bumper.
It can also then be removed easily, clean off the tape, and apply new tape every so often.

Apparently, there's some research that has said flow dynamics aren't terribly affected as long as the plate isn't directly against the intercooler, but it doesn't really matter for me since I'd just put this on in highly regulated areas where I'd be doing an average of 25 or parked

I bought a dealer plate magnet and slap my plate in the top grill in the corner by the driver light, looks gaudy as hell but I've tested it up to 130mph and it didn't fly off, so it gets the job done and doesn't block the IC and can easily be removed whenever and leaves no holes/mount pieces.
Only other thing you want to do is line the bottom of the plate with something smooth like tape/ etc. otherwise it'll just rub and scrape on the bumper kind of defeating the purpose.

I just used four mini suction cups and put it in the lower right of my windshield.

Never got pulled over for it. I guess California Police are a lot more strict.

I know in NY here it has to affixed to the front bumper only and can not be bent or physically altered.
To be technical.

I bought a steel bracket for $8 bucks at Oreilly's and I just bend the tabs drilled 2 holes on the bottom of my lip and attached it. It looks and works perfect. I have pics of how it looks but I cant post them from my cell phone, if anybody is interested pm your email and ill send you pics so you can post them here from you computer.

Just because I'm still angry about it. I got a 'no front plate' ticket....WITH the front plate there, in the stock position, with the stock mount
Yup. Some cop was too lazy to walk all around the car before writing the ticket.

I'm contesting the ticket, but we'll see what happens.
