Exclamation **HELP** Clutch Assembly Bracket Cracked???? WTF

Well found my problem tonight on my Evo 8. Its been buggin the **** out of me on why my car has been shifting ****ty. Now the question is how do i fix something like this? Just re-weld it? FML

Has anyone else have this problem before, how could this crack?

There is a crack littery right through the bracket that I think is welded to the frame?

This is what happends when the clutch is pressed in

I guess i will take the assembly off pinch the crack back together then tac it, then weld it as good as i can get it without catching my car on fire...

Also the bracket on the clutch pedal broke to.

Just bumping this to see if this has happened to anyone else?? I have re-welded the frame bracket and have ordered a new clutch pedal assembly. Hope this will solve my ****ty shifting problems. Will be sure to update pics when finished with everything. For future references

I've been running an exedy twin disk hd, for about 2 in a half years. Just replaced disks with the new trans. and i am at 120,000 miles. I have a feeling it has been cracked for a long time and just have never noticed it. I am starting to think this is what killed my other trans. This is very interesting as i have never seen something like this.

I want to let everyone else know to check this out, maybe more people just don't realise whats going on? Clutch assmbly should be here in a week so i hope my trans will shift smothley after

After two exedy twins & an ACT, mine just broke last night within 4 miles of my house... had to drive clutchless for the first time. I believe my mechanic is going to weld it with a reinforcing piece.

Im not sure how, what, or when. I bought the car with a "horrible god awful brand clutch" and found that one day... Used oem bracket from ebay, some passes with my wire feed(under the dash and on the bracket itself for more strength) and she felt normal

It can be done without removing the dash. Im sure ill get bashed on but oh well. i lined everything under there with my FR clothing and wore a leather welding jacket and everything was Aok

Hey Guys,

Let me see if i can find the pics. The clutch pedal assembly bracket cracked, but also the piece on the frame of the car cracked as well... Had to buy a new clutch pedal assembly and weld the actually frame back together.
