RPM Problems
RPM Problems
whats up guys, sorry if this is in the wrong thread area, i have no idea where this would go
ok so im going to do my best to explain this:
so when im at full throttle, and say i shift at about high 5- 6 k, and ive already pushed in the cluth, my foot is off the gas and im throwing it into the next gear, for some reason my throttle is still open, and my RPMs just keep going up to 7k.
do any of you know whats happening or whats going on?

sticky throttle cable? Is this for the vehicle in your sig? My old wrx use to do that. When shifting at wot the rpm's would rise another 2-400 rpm once the clutch was pushed in.
Check your linkage, and throttle plate. If its sticky, it needs attention.
That said, I notice the rpms will stay a bit higher when driving hard as opposed to normal DDing. Think its a software thing Mitsu put in there to help with high rpm shifts. Anybody else notice that? They certainly don't spike to redline as OP was describing - but I notice after a hard pull, they do stay a bit higher than normal, but after about 10 seconds, they drop back to 900~
