4g64 down pipe issue

any one had an issue with there down pipe rattling aginst your oil pan? if so how did you fix the issue??

you can shim the bolts where the downpipe bolts to the housing. You can use flat washers. stack them on one side or use a spacer washer. Find out which side it is vibrating on and shim it to change the angle. Its a simple fix and it wont take long. I have fixed a couple evos with this issue one had a megan downpipe and the other had a halix.

thanks... i had a Works downpipe and the i sold it cuz i was sopposed to get a custome one made the the person who was sopposed to make it flacked and i ended up with a xs downpipe...

You arent going to be able to space it without having an exhuast leak... the 6mm difference in the blocks are what is causing the issue, and needs to have a bit of pipe added in for clearance...

This is what I’ve been told but I also have been told that an insert will cause clearance issue for cross member bracing.. I haven’t been able to get a look at it for myself..

Just ran into this myself. The down pipe i had was rubbing the oil pan. Bought a Megan down pipe to replace mine. Then had a problem with it hitting the front sway bar. Had to clearance it at the sway bar. It's a tight fit at the oil pan, but it fits.

not a bad idea... but it might just be a temp fix, not sure how a wrap would hold up with the friction
