Idle problem? Cold starts? Running to rich? HELP.

Well I just got my evo and i'm having some issues with it. I have a really time on cold starts. It wont ever start up on cold starts. Its always over flooded. I have to pull off the injector clips to get all the extra fuel out and when it starts up I have to go clip the connectors back in. After it starts i cant let the idle go down I have to help it out so it warms up a little other wise the car will shut off and over flood then I have to disconnect the Injector clips and repeat the process. When driving and coming to a stop sign or just stopping I have to give it that extra throttle so it wont shut off. If it shuts off it over floods. Check engine light came on once. I ran the code and it says car running to rich. But now the light is off. It seems like when starting off the car in low rpm, it hesitates for a little then starts going fine. When I get on the car it sputters a little through out the gear.

What I assumed was the problem is that on my coil packs its mounted on a nice carbon fiber plate where a metal screw holds the coils still. On my 4th coil the screw that holds it still is stripped threw and not doing anything could that be a bad ground on that coil which is making it run rich? Or is it some other issue?

I have replaced the spark plugs with NGK V powers so they are new.

Here is a list of mods:

How rich is the car running according to your wideband? Did you install the correct sparkplugs for your evo9? You said you installed new ngk's but which ones? Check for vac leaks.

Acording to the wideband its running 15.3 at idle. When im driving and let off it rads 20.0.
After i installed the spark plugs the car was running perfectly fine until the other night. Could my coil pack not getting a good ground make my car run rich and not starting up on cold starts?

When you just idle it should move around for example 14.0- 15.5 or so, thats normal that what you call stoich and when you let off it should go higher like you mentioned. What makes you think its running rich? I know you mentioned about getting tuned by AMS, but when you drive the car hard wot what are your reading? Most people like to see their afr's 11.2 to as high as 11.8, now if your seeing low 10's or even lower then yes you are running rich. I know my wideband stops at 10.0, so if your hit 10.0 it could even be richer like in the 9's. What plugs are you running/ ngk part #? If the coilpack is bolted to the valve cover it should be grounded. After the car floods have you pulled the plugs and are they all wet? I only ask because maybe you do have a ignition problem.

Try swapping back stock coils see if that helps.

When I get on the car full throttle it would read about 11.3 or so also while getting on her it will sputter through out the gear and wont have a constant pull like it should. When I read the check engine code its say "system to rich" I would clear it and it wont come on until that over flood happens. Also you can smell fuel like crazy when trying to crank. Thats why I assume its running to rich. As for spark plugs they are NGK Raser iridium. ( not sure what they are gaped to) Car was running fine until I noticed my 4th coil not being grounded on the plate that it goes on. Could that be causing it?

But thanks for your help.

Well having one cylinder not firing is very noticeable on a four cylinder.

Check your spark plug gap since you're not sure that's pretty important
