New engine or block?
New engine or block?
I was doing a few pulls last night and my rods blew through the block

What do you guys think is it better to get a new engine or the block? Also could the valves and the head be damaged as well?

its always posible that you did head damage too.
to answer that question properly i would tear the engine apart to see if there your head is untouched.
this would be a great opportunity to build a strong motor though so keep that in mind before deciding if you are just doing a full engine or just a block

If your head is still good, of course the cheapest way will be to just source a core EVO block (~$700 + shipping) and build that and throw your original head on it. Or you can go to the 4G64 which is around (~$400 for a running core). Either way, you should have a motor that is capable of handling more power, if that's what you want. A brand new OEM shortblock runs ~$3400 plus shipping and new OEM EVO 9 head is around $1700 plus shipping. Hopefully your head is still good! Good luck
