When I bought my GTS, I was told it didn't need one and that it was guaranteed to -41C. This week has been the true test and it started up in -38C (-50 w/ Wind Chill) without any problems this morning.

I plugged mine in, but it started fine w/o it.

The cord on my car was tucked in behind the driver's side headlight. I dropped all the way down behind the foglight - I just pulled it up and ran it out from under the hood.

Hope that helps!

The cars didn't come with it, you would have to get it installed. Like RJRR, I was told that I didn't need one and today is the first morning that I thought my car wouldn't start but it did on the second try (-54C) with the widnchill just north of Edmonton.

Well I still couldnt find it, but you seem to be the only one with a block heater... Did you get one installed?

She still started but wasnt too happy.. the RPMs went a little crazy and my airbag light came on and tire pressure light also came on... but was fine after that.

Mine just came with it, I didn't ask for one specifically.

Where did you guys get your cars from? Mine's from Southside Mitsu - Maybe the other Alberta dealers don't feel the need to install them? Seems a bit crazy to not put them in when you're selling cars in Alberta....

God damn! You guys have a bit chilly weather there. I'd definately use the heater even the car would start without it. I use in my own car the block heater when the temp hits just below -5 C.

Pretty sure they are supposed to install one when they bring them into Canada.
Not sure if mine has one, but it has started everyday without it so far, and we've dipped into the -50's with windchill.

Im still confused as to why some ppl in Edmonton got them and some didnt, and none of us in Calgary got them?!
Doesnt the block heater prevent ur oil pan from freezing over night? And if it does, then isnt that bad?
